Question Problems Turning Left and Right

When I am moving forward, holding down the 'W' key, and I then hit either 'A' to turn left or 'D' to turn right mid stride, I sometimes now strafe like I was hitting 'Q' or 'E' instead. In fact I can alternate between the two and they do the same thing. If I stop running, then 'A' and 'D' seem to work normally. It's like my character gets locked into running forward or something.

Any one else experiencing this problem? It happens to me in both Prophericies and the Factions Preview Event. I first noticed the issue in Tyria on Wednesday. Has it always worked like this and I just never noticed it until now?

If you are running and press A or D while you are moving the camera angle with the mouse you will strafe instead of turn.

No, the OP's problem happened to me too. I first noticed it in Cantha. Keys Q and A would strafe left and E and D would strafe right, without any involvement with the mouse (not physically at least).

I guess, sometimes, under certain circumstances, the game cannot detect the release of a key or a mouse button and they can remain stuck in the game client's mind. When something like that happens, press and release your movement keys and also mouse buttons for good measure. Whatever has been stuck must come unstuck this way.

edit: This all-strife thing must be a new glitch introduced with one of the recent updates, since I have never experienced it before, and I'm quite the panicky keyboard smasher.

Yes, now that you mention it, I had problems with my character moving strangely few moments ago during an oro run. It happend only twice or so, so I didn't notice what exactly was wrong.

I've been having the same problem recently...(In ch 1)....not only does my char do the strafe thing..she often times refuses to move at all....she won't attack at times...(I'm not blocked, the enemy is right in front of me..and it isn't lag)...also, she will at times just decide to run in the middle of a fight. I'm not making any of this happen (there's nothing wrong with my keyboard...mouse etc)..and as I said this is only recently and it's sporadic...started late on wed night I believe.

I had the same problem a while ago, didn't know if it was lag or just my keyboard going crazy. I was only able to move via mouse clicks. The problem seems to be temporary though, it went away after I zoned out of town.
